No Doubt, My Son Killed EVE

venoms chart

If you would please refer to the above graphic from Battle Clinic, a chart showing the exact moments when becoming a Mom killed Venom Orchid.  I have been feeling good as of late, I have been logging in and playing the game; actually, I have been logging in and assisting Mynx in our Universe domination plan.  Pew Pew has not been on the HUD, sadly I can show you where moments in my last 6 months have collided with my Battle Clinic stats.  Stats were climbing, at a good clip, then I got word about my new soon to be adopted son.  I rushed away to meet him, and you can see how things start to round off on the graph, the start of my downward spiral.  Followed by: my son starts to have Pew Pew with Pew Pew of his own, gas.  Then in September he learned that his room was very lonely and if he cried enough, I’d come get him.  Somewhere in October I had a strong showing and my blip on the chart went up, only to be nerfed by teething.

All in all I’m happy to say, being a Mommy is the best thing I ever did and I am now feeling more regular about playing.  I hope to get back into blogging and improving my stories of Venom.

Ciao!

Ain’t no internet spaceships game can compare to the joy you get from that little boy! Besides, you’ve been around more than I ever expected and we’re having fun when we can so that’s all that matters. yarr!

This is true, very true. It’s a lose I’m not all that sad about yet there is some humor in those peaks and valleys. I’m having fun, that is for sure, can’t really complain. Yea I can, I miss Sat morning roams for 8 hours. :P

Hey I have a son also and I promise you it gets better. Mine is 18 months now and I can now pew pew most evenings after bed time.
enjoy parenthood it is the best.

  4. venomorchid Says:

Thanks for the encouragement Alan, you are right, so far it’s the best thing ever being a parent.

Children and family do put a mighty alpha-strike on the aspiring Eve pilot. I am often irritated by Eve’s game play that nearly requires you to log in every day in order to maintain assets. Sure you can always go back to Empire and mission now and then, but then you’re cut off from much of the most cool content of the game (0.0, capitals, towers, high profit mining, good rats, etc.) I find this annoying.

As a parent, I would like a more casual game where I could still whomp a couple times a week without being deadweight to my alliance.

Yea, I call that Call of Duty 4 MW2 :)

For 100,000,000 isk I will teach you padowan. muahahaha :) Was just looking at my kill/killed stats, they are in the toilet. sigh…..I was even so desperate to kill something I attacked a thorax in my wolf today, first off I was so excited to find something to kill I forgot to orbit out of his gun range, second I forgot to activate my reppers. doh! sigh….I’m over the hill in pvp anymore. sniff.

You have a missus? How’s that work with being a Porn Star? :P

This made me grin to myself. I feel your pain darlin’.

… the stars are calling to me though. I long for the vast expanse of New Eden.

  12. venomorchid Says:

Well, don’t let this new patch entice you back it’s about as lame as a condom with a hole in it. :P I keep trying to come back but if one can’t devote the normal 8 straight hours to playing, it’s damn hard. Try moving ships or doing anything inside 4 hours. :P

    I just found your blog!
Please do write more if you get the chance, I enjoy your writing style :)
My husband and I have been thinking about having kids sometime in the near future. I’m just hoping to get into the top 100 in Battleclinic before then. Then I can leave EVE with a goal fulfilled, as my stats slowly decline into oblivion with each childhood phase…
    Looking forward to it!
    All the best Venom

Hi Laedy! I hope to write more as I’ve settled into being a Mom and filling my internet spaceship addiction. Thank you so much for the note, it’s encouraging to know people like what I write. For sure your battleclinic stats will suffer when you have a child but it doesn’t last forever. :) It’s hard to compete with the college kids when you are having a kid yourself. heh Thanks again for stopping by.
