I Ransom, Therefore I Am

I am what?  A kidnapper?  Yes….but that’s just one of the functions and services I provide to New Eden, yet to not mistake it, I’m a Pirate.

What I’m excited about is the new Ransom Board we have, not we as in Hellcats, but we as in Bastards Alliance. Can’t say things any better than Flash Fresh, the Bastards new CEO, check out his latest post on the Ransom Board and how wonderful it is.  (Author of the board not mentioned to protect him from a barrage of evemail on where to buy the Ransom Board)

But more important is, I ransomed a Wreathe who was mining in a belt in low sec, for not a few hundred mil as one would expect, but for 5 mil Isk.  I love noobs.  Maybe we blew this guy up a few too many times, 5 mil might not be a big deal to him.  When I arrived in my Jaguar, I had to travel 30k before I could lock him, and lock him down I did.  Blew off his shields, mind you he only had a mining laser fitted, if he was fitted the same as when I blew him up last time.  Hit the coms button, and professionally said “5 mill or the bunny gets it”….wait….I said “5 mil and you are free from my ebil doings until the next downtime”.   He didn’t hesitate, he accepted and within 5 seconds he overpaid for a ship I would have just popped anyway, cus I like to see shit blow up.

Anyway, don’t ask about the Ransom Board, it’s not for sale from what I hear, just be green with envy and suck it up. :P

Yarrrr!

“Action Que Nous Voulons, Action Nous Obtenons” – Roam Log 5.10.09

“Action We Want, Action We Get”

Anyone familiar with our normal roaming and patrolling routes will know that we are a force when we enter a system, not always a large force but a known force.  Often ships will scatter, waving on their way out of system, or hug stations just in case we had our sights on them.  As well, much larger forces know we are there and seek us.  Either way, our patrol routes are productive; from mish runners to similar sized groups who don’t know us, we find you.

As with the start of many patrols, the trip out is quiet, it’s the destination we keep in mind.  Siseide and Egghelende have become rich fertile grounds for yelling “Yarr” and breaking out the rum.  Last nights patrol was no less productive than my words make it out to be.  A prober in our group finds a Drake guarding a plex with a Maelstrom working away on the local rats.  By the time we rushed in with scouts, hopes of taking a Drake before the Maelstrom was notified by his mate, the Drake and Maelstrom had moved on to a new room.  The Drake was not at the start of the plex.  We warped through two more gates to come upon both ships in the 3rd room, about 7000 m off the entry point.

It’s hard to determine who had the first point, myself and two other Hellcats (Perseph and Mae) had the ships locked, pointed and orbiting.  Points were spread on both ships, damage starting on the Drake.  With points applied, our mates started to arrive and join the fun.  Smacking drones and watching for range, we had the Drake down, watching it slowly turn to red.  Most of us were in assault frigs, some in interceptors and others in T1 frigs.  Myself, I was in my trusty gift “Love and Tarts”, which you can read further about at this post.  By the time we had the Drake down, my shields were gone as well as most of my armor but I held on and warped away only after our target was gone.  Warping out allowed me to lose the lock the Maelstrom had on me, allowing me to get back capacitor and heal my shields.  I burned back to the acceleration gate, as many of had to run out and come back, points were still on the Maelstrom and we were all now up on him and turning him to red as well.  Poof, they are both gone, we took them both, yet now the plex rats were pissed off and coming down on us.  We grabbed what loot we could and got the hell out.

:) We did well.

As we awaited our GCC and pondered the idea of heading home, a group of other assault frigs entered scan range and decided to sit around for us to find them.  We warped in upon the planet they were sitting and engaged in one of the most fun fights we’ve had in a long time.  Yes, we lost a few ships but we killed and out isked as well as out maneuvered our merry little band of targets.

Ishkur

Enyo

Wolf

Bellicose

and almost a Megathron

FC was steady, calm and pointed by Nova (as always), we primaried who we needed to and we pointed who was next.  Keeping them in the fight and herding them into our sights.  In the middle of this little tussle, they bring a Megathron, who was lucky to have gotten out into structure as we had to leave, they had bigger friends arriving for the party.

Eventually, we waited in pods and surviving ships, then headed home.  Proud from our hunt and pleased with our tactics.

Yes, my little Jaguar gift from a friend, proved to have many lives and escaped again into structure after having helped take down more than it’s weight in isk.

“Ode To A New Friend – A Jaguar” – 5.5.09 Roam Log

I don’t know what colour your eyes are, baby
But your hair is long and brown
Your legs are strong, and you’re so, so long
And you don’t come from this town
My head is full of magic, baby
And I can share this with you
The feel I’m on a cross again, lately
But it’s nothing to do with you

I’m alive
Oh Oh, so alive
I’m alive
Oh Oh, so alive
-Love and Rockets “So Alive”

Space has been busy, very busy, the way we like it.  Our normal patrol space has been full of gangs challenging us or simply running away when they see us.  You see, us Hellcats and Bastards have a nice force and patrol group during a certain North American time zone, mostly we are feared and gangs bigger than us will dock up or hide.  This I don’t get but so long as we are causing a disruption, our space will stay clean.   We are Pirates, we own our space.

This entry is the story of a new ship, a ship given to me by a dear friend Sard Caid; a Jaguar with battle scars and pod goo from past kills.  Sard delivered the gift to me at my home station in Evati, the ship was named “Love and Rockets”, I contemplated keeping the name for the luck aspect but eventually decided it needed a blend and I settled on renaming this beauty “Love and Tarts”.  This baby is full of luck and mojo as you will see, a welcome addition to the hangar, even the crew enjoys the energy off this sleek beauty.

This evening the intention was to make some hauling runs for much needed supplies, that was cut very short by the usual crew causing havoc across space.  Being low on supplies and ships, I slid my pod into “Love and Tarts”, flicked on the computer systems, and set a course for my fellow pirates already engaged in space.

Upon jumping into Siseide and joining the gang, we found an interesting group of ships in a belt, a brutix, tristan, and vexor; as well as few others who ran before we could sink our teeth into them.  We had with us new Hellcats recruits, making the kills very exciting, as well, under the leadership of Nova Blackadder, we were a force.

Vexor was melted

Brutix was melted

Tristan was…melted

We moved on to Egghelende, where upon scanning a rupture down and sitting at a planet (shaking my milkshake), the rupture we were looking for descended upon me.  Oh rupture, I’m sorry, didn’t you see my friend Nova sitting 20k from me cloaked in a rapier?  Too bad for you.  Although, as I pointed you and unleashed all I could from this beautiful new friend the Jaguar, I held on until all my friends could arrive.  Then I held on some more, in fact, I started popping your drones and giving you a very bad day.  No please, stay right there, don’t move, here they come.  ”Pop” went your drone.  Now all my friends are here, you have my shields down and my armor, as you get me to 50% structure, I move away very very fast.  I’m out of your range now, your a distant speck on my HUD, you got me to 16% hull but now I’m sitting in my safe spot as you are introduced to the cold void of space.  Yes, I could have parted ways sooner, saved some isk in repairs but this ship wanted to see you Pop.  This ship has the killer MoJo and now I know she has the staying power to take punishment.  All-in-all you put up a good fight, thank you for the fun.

We made our way back to Evati and it was time to catch up on paperwork and move gear across New Eden to stock my low supplies.

Some time later, a call comes out across the alliance channel.  The Nato Indi’s guys were out in Las, they have recently moved there and have proclaimed to take over.  Our job is to relieve them of their ships and gear until they decide this isn’t the home for them.

Phobos and Zealot were out, as well as a few other of their clan.  We lost a few interceptors and a cruiser in the fight but we took their Phobos as well as their Brutix.  We raided their wrecks, destroyed their mining cans (yes, they were mining with a hulk, this is what started the whole thing), we caused damage and mayhem.

Waiting out my GCC in a newly fit stabber (I was gearing her up when the call came out, or I might have been in the Jag), I checked messages.  I noticed a corp mail I missed before, from Mynxee.  Mynx writes, asking if I would accept the honor of becoming a Hellcats Director.  I gladly accepted, full of excitement, the honor of serving Mynxee and my corp mates pleases me.  Time to celebrate I’d say, off to the Hellcats bar at base, if I don’t wake up early, don’t knock, it’s a hangover.
